Performance Audit

Killerarchy includes a high-performance Heatmap System and vertex-density scanner designed to identify technical hotspots before they impact your game’s frame rate.

1. Scene Heatmaps

Visualizing “Density” is difficult in a standard hierarchy. Killerarchy scans your active scene and highlights potential bottlenecks.

  • Vertex Hotspots: Identify objects with excessive vertex counts.
  • Component Density: See which areas of your scene are heavy on scripts or physics components.
  • Visual Feedback: View density directly in the hierarchy using color-coded bars, allowing you to quickly drill down into problematic parent-child relationships.

2. Technical Hotspot Scanning

The Heatmap module provides a quick technical overview of your scene’s “Weight”.

  • Scan Entire Scene: One-click analysis of the active hierarchy.
  • Optimized for Tech Artists: Provides data-driven insights to help you decide where to implement LODs or merge meshes.
  • Real-time Feedback: The scanner is designed to be extremely fast, providing results in seconds even on large-scale levels.

3. Best Practices

  • Periodic Audits: We recommend running a performance scan after major level-design iterations.
  • LOD Planning: Use the heatmap to identify which objects are “too heavy” for their current role in the scene.
  • Batching Identification: Spot dense object clusters that would benefit from static or dynamic batching.

[!TIP] Developer Insight: All performance features are designed to be read-only. Killerarchy scans your data but never modifies your assets without your explicit command, ensuring a safe and non-destructive auditing process.
